Gathering Nature is, Natasha Lloyd and Rachel Simmons, we are both qualified and experienced Medical Herbalists and Foragers, based in the heart of Cairngorm National Park in Scotland and in Houston, Texas.
I love plants. I’ve often been to known to trip over my words trying to get them out so quickly. My passion shows!
My passion for plants started young with gardening and discussions with my Mum, and a well thumbed copy of A Modern Herbal by Mrs Grieves. I still use the book today it was an excellent choice on my Mums part to have as one of our reference books on the shelf.
I’ve been teaching foraging and herbalism for over 15 years through guided walks, talks and workshops. Gathering Nature is the culmination of my experience in this fascinating subject, and is a way of imparting knowledge to people that are interested to learn and participate in a variety of nature based activities.
I qualified from the University of East London and I love plants. I spend most of the year in Houston with my family but part of the year in Scotland.
We met when we were studying together for the degree in herbal medicine and our friendship and shared passion began. Although we live in two different continents at the moment. Modern technology means we can work together. We are working on some new projects that when they are ready we will share and invite you to join. Watch this space!
I trained at the School of Phytotherapy and then at the University of East London. I was awarded a Bsc (Hons) Herbal Medicine in 2013. Currently in application for the National Institute of Medical Herbalists membership.
